Robinson Records 14th Double-Double in Sandburg’s Blowout of Monmouth JV

Deandrey Robinson (Peoria, Ill./Peoria) led all players in scoring and rebounding to pace the Carl Sandburg College men’s basketball team in a 72-52 blowout of Monmouth JV on Monday night at John M. Lewis Gymnasium.
KEY MOMENTS
- Tied at 19 in the first half, the Chargers (14-6) scored 18 of the final 22 in the period to take a 37-23 lead into the locker room.
- Sandburg saw its lead grow as big as 28 points in the second half.
SANDBURG STAR OF THE GAME
Robinson had 19 points and 11 rebounds to pick up his 14th double-double of the season. It was the fourth straight double-double for the sophomore forward and his eighth in Sandburg’s last nine contests. Robinson had 15 points and eight boards in the first half and finished the game 8 of 11 from the field.

The Chargers’ Arrowhead Conference contest at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at home against fellow defending co-champion Highland is still on at this time. A final determination on if the game will be played will be made Tuesday morning.
THURSDAY AT SAUK VALLEY POSTPONED
Thursday’s Arrowhead games at Sauk Valley has been postponed to Feb. 9, with the women’s game at 1 p.m. and the men’s contest at 3 p.m.
